Apply now for Zurich Summer Internship Programme

It’s a great opportunity for young people to work with the company at Zurich House (its office at Isle of Man Business Park) to gain practical experience and develop the skills they need for future employment. In previous years, some interns have gone on to secure further opportunities with Zurich, so the programme has the potential to kickstart their careers within the global insurance industry. There are places available for nine interns this summer. Applications can be found at www.careers.zurich.com from April 1^st to 21^st. Please note, the internships are only open to applicants who are aged 16 or over from April 1^st, 2025.

Successful applicants will work full-time, 35 hours per week. The hours worked can be flexible depending on the business and individual need. The start date and end date of the internship can be agreed based on availability. There will be one internship for nine different roles, as follows:

• Finance, Accounting and Reporting
• Risk & Compliance
• HR
• Finance, Risk and Controls
• Actuarial
• Communications
• Relationship Management
• Group Savings
• Group Protection

Ryan Lacadin took part in last year’s programme as a Business Change & IT intern and is now a permanent Zurich employee. Talking about his experience as an intern, he said: “I had a great experience with my team during my internship, so I was really excited when they offered me an extension to continue the work I was doing. By the end of 2024, I was offered a full-time position with the Application Development team. The best part of the programme was the group project with all of the interns raising money for The Children’s Centre. It was a unique learning experience, working with many people who had different knowledge and skillsets, all for a good cause. We raised over £12,000 by the end of the programme. I would recommend the Summer Internship Programme to anyone looking for hands-on experience or wanting to explore career paths you might not have thought of before.”

Karen Mercer, Head of HR at Zurich on the Isle of Man, commented: “Our Summer Internship Programme is now in its third year, and we have received a lot of positive feedback from previous participants. It’s also been rewarding for us to meet and work with enthusiastic, talented interns who have all made a positive impact during their time with us. As in previous years, for 2025, all of the interns will be given real-world experience, with the chance to expand their professional networks, and explore career opportunities. On April 16^th Zurich will have a stand at the Locate Isle of Man Graduate and Young Professional Fair at the Villa Marina.
